This is pro-active job hunting!

Here at the Betts Blog, we want to encourage you to break through normal channels to try everything possible when looking for your new job.

Regularly using Social Media is vital – and LinkedIn (especially) is seen as a serious business environment, so don’t confuse it with anything you’d find a teenager using to chat with their friends!

We received an email from someone who isn’t only registered on LinkedIn; he’s used it to take a pro-active approach to his career development.

As he’s given us permission to reproduce his details here, we hope you find it useful – and perhaps an idea that you can adapt to find work.

I received this message from him via LinkedIn:

Hi Fiona

I’ve just created a new website (Still a WIP)

I would appreciate it if you could have a look and if possible give me some feedback.

I’m trying to drum up some new business, so if I can be of service to yourself or anyone you know please get in touch

Gary

You can safely follow his Link above – you’ll find the one page website that Gary is continuing to develop.

It is still a work in progress but, once finished, he’ll have a platform to seek new work by highlighting the details on his CV/Resume along with his technical web-building and design skills.

Whilst not everyone can build their own website, there are plenty of  web templates available on-line and perhaps it’s an idea that could work for you, if you have skills that can be made available beyond full-time employment options too?

Good Luck!
