Social media has lots of resources which, if used fully, can enhance your job search.
For a long time hashtags (the # symbol, followed by a topic or phrase, such as #BettsRecruit) have only been associated with Twitter and more recently LinkedIn and Google+ and now Facebook have introduced them, giving users even more ways to connect with subjects, people, events and services.
Hashtags turn key words into clickable links on your timeline, page or posts. This guides other people towards the topic(s) they’re all interested in.
To make a hashtag, simply type # along with the subject written as one word with no spaces and simply add it to your post.
When you hear that something is trending it means that hashtag subject is being shared by many thousands of people at the same time.
Using hashtags more simply, you can comment on Social Media, for example, by saying: I will be flying to #Paris tomorrow. Your #Paris will group your Tweet or Comment with everyone else using the same hashtag at that time.
Imagine then, applying a hashtag to your job search.
If Employers include an appropriate one in their job postings, you can then view all job postings with that hashtag in it.
You may choose a broad-brush approach, by seeking out commonly used hashtags such as:
or something more specific, if Hiring Managers use very specific terms such as #A320Capt in their job postings.
The use of hashtags is still relatively new to Facebook users but it’s predicted to catch on – and Betts will now publish a unique hashtag for each Vacancy so you can track Jobs that might interest you very closely indeed.

Good Luck with your applications!
